MANILA — The Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA), in partnership with local carriers, has started to spread the Christmas vibe at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) by putting up unconventional Christmas trees and decors in the area.

MIAA General Manager Ed Monreal and executives of Cebu Pacific (CEB) led the lighting ceremony of the Christmas decor in NAIA Terminal 3.

CEB chief operations officer Michael Shau said NAIA Terminal 3 has been the carrier’s home for 10 years now.

CEB’s Christmas decor is a number of gift boxes piled together to form a Christmas tree. Travelers are welcome to take their photos or selfies with this decor, or with the holiday mural that the airline has also put up inside the airport.

At Terminal 4, on the other hand, CEB has helped MIAA to decorate it with lights and Christmas trees.

The airline has also put up a holiday mural inside the airport.

Shau said CEB will also welcome passengers at the NAIA Terminal 3 with Christmas carols from some groups that it hired to perform. Christmas carol performances will be up to early January, he said.

Monreal thanked the CEB for helping MIAA in making the passengers feel at home this yuletide season.

Meanwhile, earlier this week, Monreal, together with the executives of Philippine Airlines (PAL), also led the Christmas tree lighting ceremony at the NAIA Terminal 1.

PAL’s Christmas tree is made of boxes that showcases pop art, featuring the streets of Manila.
