The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) has arrested four suspects allegedly involved in the rape of a 15-year-old girl in Oslob, Cebu last Dec. 9.

The victim passed away a few days after the sexual assault.

In a statement on Monday, CIDG acting chief PBGen. Nicolas Torre III said the four suspects, identified as “Luis,” “Cyrill,” “Tristan,” and “Kent,” were arrested Sunday night in Brgy. Casay, Dalaguete, Cebu.

The victim identified as “Analyn” and her mother reported the incident to the police on December 12.

According to the victim, on the evening of Dec. 9, while seated at the Cuartel Heritage Park during the Oslob Grand Fiesta Celebration, she was approached by an unidentified group of men who offered her a drink, leading to her intoxication.

“They allegedly took advantage of her inebriated state, brought her to a secluded area, and thirteen men sexually assaulted her… Tragically, Analyn passed away a few days after the incident,” read the CIDG statement, without mentioning the cause of death.

Through meticulous backtracking and forward tracking of CCTV footage, as well as witness interviews, it was revealed that the persons of interest were visitors from Dalaguete, Cebu attending the town fiesta.

The suspects are in the custody of CIDG Regional Field Unit (RFU) 7, and necessary documentation has been prepared to support the filing of appropriate criminal charges of statutory rape and homicide against them.
