By Katrina Gracia Consebido

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) said the random manual audit (RMA) of votes has so far yielded a 99.9% match rate with the automated tally.

According to Comelec, a 99.97% accuracy was audited for the presidential position, 99.94% for the vice presidential, 99.97% for senatorial, 99.79% for party-list, 99.95% for the members of the House of Representatives, and 99.94% for the mayoral positions.

The RMA result is based on 128 of 757 or 16.91% of the total sample clustered precincts.

The poll body said the computation of the preliminary accuracy rate is based on the marks and votes cast per position, as encoded by the Philippine Statistics Authority. – gb
