MANILA — The Commission on Elections (Comelec) expects to complete this week the printing of more than 63 million official ballots for the May midterm polls this week.

Comelec spokesperson James Jimenez said that as of Sunday, they already printed 59,298,986 or 93.15 percent of the 63,662,481 total ballots.

“This means that we are well within our expected date of completion,” Jimenez said in an interview in Manila Monday.

With this, he reported that only more than 4 million official ballots remains to be printed.

Jimenez said the total of 4,363,495 ballots is for Metro Manila voters.

“Remaining ballots to be printed are those for the National Capital Region (NCR),” he added.

The printing of the ballots started on February 9 at the National Printing Office in Quezon City.
