COMELEC to launch voter registration app

The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) will launch on Tuesday (June 15) a mobile application which can also be used offline to streamline the voter registration process.

The application can be downloaded though bit.ly/MobileFormApp, and can be shared from one Android device to another through file-sharing applications.

“A QR Code is generated upon successful accomplishment of the form. You must save the QR code on your smartphone, and afterwards, you may visit your local COMELEC office to have your QR Code scanned and your biometrics taken,” Commissioner Marlon Casquejo said.

The Mobile Registration Form App will be launched in Tagum City, Davao del Norte, and will be led by Casquejo who conceptualized the project.

The project has been rolled out in select pilot areas covering 500 cities and municipalities nationwide.

Using the app:

1. Open and tap “Get Started.”
2. Select application type and tap “Proceed.”
3. Input necessary information.
4. Tick checkbox to confirm personal information.
5. Tap “Generate QR Code” and “Save.”
6. Bring a valid ID upon visiting your local COMELEC office.
