Community in Valenzuela to undergo lockdown starting July 25

Bagong Kaunlaran in Brgy. Paso de Blas in Valenzuela City will be placed under community lockdown beginning 12:00 a.m. tomorrow until August 9.

The local government of Valenzuela said the move is meant to contain COVID-19 transmission in the area. More than a hundred of the 400 residents in Brgy. Paso de Blas turned out positive after undergoing swab tests.

Police and barangay personnel will be deployed at the entrance of the community to ensure that no resident will go out and no outsider will enter. “Sari-sari” or variety stores in the area will also close tonight. Violators will be fined and may face imprisonment. The local government unit has learned that buying food is the usual reason why people go out. The LGU will be rationing food and drinks to the residents to address the need.
