Congress to start COC canvassing Tuesday

The House of Representatives and the Senate will begin on Tuesday, May 24, its canvassing of votes for the presidential and vice presidential candidates in the recently concluded 2022 national polls.

Officials of the Senate and House have transferred the ballot boxes containing the certificates of canvass and election returns from the Senate in Pasay City to the House of Representatives in Quezon City on Monday morning, May 23.

The Senate and the House convened with the National Board of Canvassers (NBOC), tasked to canvass votes that will proclaim the next president and vice president of the country.

The canvassing will begin tomorrow, May 24, starting at 2:00 p.m. Also, the operations on May 25 to May 27 will start at 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Meanwhile, the Congress expects the proclamation of the next president and vice president to be done before June. – bny
