Cop arrested over threat to Valenzuela nurses

A policeman was arrested for allegedly threatening nurses of the Valenzuela City Emergency Hospital when he was rushed to the facility on Sunday (Aug. 29).

Valenzuela City Police said Patrolman Angelo Abalos was brought to the hospital due to high blood pressure.

“Pakiramdam niya hindi siya inasikaso, parang nakapagbitaw siya ng salita – ‘yung alleged na sinasabi ng victim na ‘kung dala ko lang baril ko, binaril ko na kayo’,” Valenzuela police chief Col. Ramchrisen Haveria Jr. said.

Abalos is facing grave threat charges after a nurse and a security personnel of the hospital filed a complaint following the incident. Haveria said Abalos has apologized for his actions.

Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Gen. Guillermo Eleazar has already ordered the Northern Police District to investigate the incident.

“Hindi natin kukunsintihin ang mga ganitong klaseng asal at tinitiyak kong papanagutin natin ang pulis na ito ‘pag lumabas sa imbestigasyon ang kanyang pagkakasala,” he said. – Report from Bea Bernardo/AG-rir
