Cops to knock on doors of wanted persons in Puerto Princesa

PUERTO PRINCESA CITY, Palawan — The City Police Office (CPO) here launched Monday the “Oplan Toksu” or “Toktok Suko,” which aims to knock on the house doors of wanted persons who have pending warrants of arrest.

This was initiated by CPO director Senior Superintendent Ronnie Francis Cariaga, who said the “accounting of wanted persons plays a vital role in the performance of their core functions.”

He said there is an increase in the number of unserved warrants of arrest received by the CPO. However, he did not give specific number.

“That is why this Oplan was made to ease the arrest of suspected criminals through the help of the community, especially the victims, in locating their hiding places,” he said.

Cariaga said coordination and assistance of barangay officials and the community will be a big help to police officers.

He said further that “the family of the wanted persons will be useful in encouraging them to surrender.”

The CPO chief warned that those who will be discovered harboring criminals will be dealt with accordingly. (PNA)
