Cops nab 2 gunrunners in Cavite

GEN. MARIANO ALVAREZ, Cavite — Elements of General Mariano Alvarez (GMA) police here collared two jeepney drivers allegedly engaged in gun running activities during an entrapment operation Sunday afternoon in Barangay Lumbreras here.

Chief Insp. Romulo Dela Rea, officer-in-charge of GMA police office, identified the arrested suspects as Vincent Bentulan del Rosario alias “Bino,” 26, of Barangay Maderan in this town and Mark Anthony Aliswag Dimaandal alias “Mac,” 29, resident of Aliswag Compound, Barangay Sampaloc III in Dasmariñas City.

A still unidentified third suspect eluded arrest and remains at large, he said.

Dela Rea said the intelligence/warrant section operatives and the police patrol team nabbed the two suspects with the help of the police confidential asset, who acted as poseur buyer.

The poseur-buyer was able to buy two firearms from the suspects resulting in their arrests.

The police also recovered a KG99 semi-automatic 9-mm pistol, a magazine loaded with two ammunition, and another caliber .45 pistol with serial number 770882 loaded with two ammunition.

The police also retrieved the “counterfeit” money worth PHP50,000 including marked money worth PHP500 used during the operation.

Also impounded was the Mitsubishi Adventure with plate number ZGF 155 used by the suspects.
