Cops nab son-in-law of NDFP consultant

MANILA — Operatives of the Philippine National Police Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG) have arrested Marklen Maojo Maga, son-in-law of National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP) consultant Rafael Baylosis, during operations in Rizal Thursday.

This was confirmed by CIDG-National Capital Region head Senior Supt. Wilson Asueta in a Radyo Pilipinas report Friday.

Maga, who was nabbed at Barangay Ampid in San Mateo, Rizal, was allegedly a member of the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army’s (CPP-NPA) National Organizing Division.

Maga’s apprehension was based on an arrest warrant issued by Judge Cesar P. Bordalba of the 10th Judicial Region in Cabadbaran City, Agusan del Sur for the crime of murder.

Seized from his possession were a .45-caliber pistol, a magazine containing seven rounds of ammunition, and a wallet containing assorted ID cards.

All the items were contained in an orange backpack, reports added.

Maga admitted to being Baylosis’ son-in-law but denied being a member of the NPA. (PNA)
