Cops seize P400K shabu from drug suspect in S. Kudarat

ISULAN, Sultan Kudarat – Police arrested here a 19-year-old male and seized from him some PHP400, 000 worth of shabu during drug buy-bust operation on Wednesday.

Major Lorenzo Henares, chief of the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit (RPDEU) in Region 12 (Soccsksargen), said the suspect was arrested after he handed over a sachet of shabu to a police undercover buyer at the town’s public market at 11 a.m.

Two more huge sachets of shabu were recovered from the suspect, who did not resist arrest but was visibly surprised that he dealt with an undercover police officer.

Henares withheld the name of the suspect as follow-up operations are still going on.

“Our investigation is ongoing to determine the suspect’s affiliation and influence,” Henares said, adding that the drug buy-bust operation was launched after another drug peddler was nabbed and pointed to the 19-year-old suspect as his supplier.

He said the teenage suspect, a resident of Talayan, Maguindanao, is believed to be a member of a larger drug syndicate operating in Maguindanao and Sultan Kudarat.

The suspect is still undergoing investigation at the RPDEU lock-up facility.
