MANILA — Minimum wage earners in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) are set to receive additional pay ranging from PHP20-PHP30 following the issuance of a new wage order by the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB) – CAR.
According to Wage Order No. RB-CAR-19, the salary adjustments in the provinces of Abra, Benguet, Ifugao, Kalinga, Apayao, Mt. Province and Baguio City, covers workers in all industries/sectors employing 11 (workers) or more and all industries/sectors employing 10 (workers) or less.
With the new wage order, the minimum wage rate for Baguio City and La Trinidad will be at PHP320 from PHP300 (employing 11 workers or more) and PHP310 from PHP285 (employing 10 workers or less); PHP315 from PHP290.00 and PHP305 from PHP280 for Tabuk City, Bangued, Bontoc, Lagawe, Banaue, Buguias, Bauko, Sagada, and Tublay; and PHP300 from PHP280 and PHP300 from PHP270 for other areas in the region.
The new minimum wage rate will be effective on August 20.
Aside from the salary increase, the RTWPB-CAR also ordered the integration of the PHP15 Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) provided in the previous wage order into the basic pay.
Aside from CAR, there were 9 other regions that have issued wage orders this year.
They are: Central Luzon (PHP20); Calabarzon (PHP9-PHP45); Western Visayas (PHP8.50-PHP26.50); Central Visayas (PHP10-PHP52); Eastern Visayas (PHP20-PHP30); Zamboanga Peninsula (PHP20); Davao Region (PHP56.43); Soccsksargen (PHP16-PHP18); and Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (PHP15).
