The total number of COVID-19 cases in the country has reached 307 as the Department of Health (DOH) reported on Saturday afternoon additional 77 confirmed cases.
Amid the increase in confirmed cases and fatalities, the number of patients who have recovered also rose to 13 as the health department reported the recovery of patients 62, 41, 16, 17, and 49.
The DOH disclosed that four of the patients who have recovered are elderly, and one of them is a severe case.
Patient 62 is a 35-year-old Filipino female from Rizal with no travel and exposure history, has pre-existing asthma, and was confirmed positive for COVID-19 on March 13.
Patient 41 is a 75-year-old Filipino female from Makati with travel history from USA and had exposure to known COVID-19 cases. She was confirmed positive with the disease on March 11.
The 11th recovery case is patient 16 who is a 70-year-old Filipino male from San Juan and was confirmed positive on March 9, while his 69-year-old wife (patient 17), who was also confirmed positive on the same day is the 12th reported recovery today.
Meanwhile, a 72-year-old male from Batangas who was considered to be a severe case on March 13 has also recovered. He had an exposure history to known COVID-19 case and is known to be hypertensive. He was confirmed positive on March 11 and was discharged on March 21.
