COVID-19 hit total of 18-K Filipinos abroad

A total of 18,607 overseas Filipinos were infected with COVID-19, while the total number of deaths is 1,162, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) reported on Saturday (May 15).

The DFA tallied 26 new COVID-19 cases, with no new recovery nor fatality among Filipinos abroad.

There are 6,076 in total undergoing treatment, comprising 3,794 Filipinos in the Middle East and Africa, 1,224 in the Asia Pacific Region, 943 in Europe, and 115 in the Americas.

Among the countries and territories worldwide, 94 have Filipino COVID-19 cases.

With 11,369 recoveries reported, the DFA said the total number of COVID-19 recoveries and fatalities saw a slight decrease to 61.10% and 6.24%, respectively. – (DFA)/CF-jlo
