COVID-hit PhilHealth members to receive benefits despite IRM freeze

The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) assured that its members infected by COVID-19 can still receive benefits, testing, and isolation packages amid the suspension of the Interim Reimbursement Mechanism (IRM).

The IRM is a mechanism or reimbursement program used as an advance payment to hospitals for insurance claims. It was temporarily suspended to resolve the issues on alleged corruption within the corporation which surfaced during the recent hearings of the Senate.

Meanwhile, PhilHealth emphasized that the IRM is legal and important for the response against COVID-19. – PTV News
