DA: No vaccine for African swine fever

Amidst the African Swine Feve (ASF) scare, some quarters are offering antibiotics claiming cure over the social media. But the Department of Agriculture (DA) is quick to clarify the World Health Organization (WHO) itself reports that ASF has no cure nor vaccination to protect pigs from the disease. The DA pointed out that ASF is caused by a virus and antibiotics are only meant to counter bacteria. The agency warned hog raisers to be wary of such claims raising false hopes and encouraged them to report companies peddling such antibotics for proper investigation.
