DA opens fertilizer bidding process to public

The Department of Agriculture (DA) has opened its fertilizer bidding process to the public after being questioned on procuring Php 1.8 billion worth of fertilizer.

According to Spokesperson Noel Reyes, the DA wants to show all conducted activities involving the expenditure of the country’s funds to the public. 3 bidders have qualified for the process and the winning bidder will be announced on June 29. There are still 18 slots left for the private sector that want to join the bidding.

The DA earlier explained that the fertilizer bought at Php 900 to Php 995 was not overpriced and stressed that it was meant to support the farmers in increasing the food supply of the country.
