DA tackles more reform agendas, discusses ABCs

The Department of Agriculture (DA) on Sunday (Feb. 13) resumed their explanation of their OneDA Reform Agenda, citing a core strategy, industrialization of agriculture and fisheries sector.

The industrialization strategy aims to quicken agricultural development in the country through connectivity and agricultural production, infrastructure, and market linkages.

“Binibigyan diin natin dito sa industrialization are the value-added activities. Nandito na po iyong processing, harnessing of the raw material na hindi po sila naaabuso na mababa ang farm price,” he said.

In the processing, more jobs will be added meaning not only farmers and fishermen will benefit but also other laborers under the agricultural and fisheries sector.

Meanwhile, Cayanan also talked about Agri Industrial Business Corridors (ABCs).

The ABCs aims to provide smallholder farmers and fisherfolk access to resources, including state-of-the-art production technology, hatcheries and nurseries, capital, and value-adding facilities.

– PG – bny
