The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) has turned over a P8.5-million bridge project in the town of Diffun, Quirino province to provide the agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) faster access to various trade centers and markets in transporting their farm products.
DAR Cagayan Valley Regional Director Samuel Solomero said the bridge would be a big help not just to ARBs but also to other farmers and residents because they can now reach their destination faster and with cheaper transportation expenses.
“The two-lane bridge is implemented under the ‘Tulay ng Pangulo para sa Kaunlarang Pang-Agraryo’ project and was made possible through the assistance made by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and the Provincial Government of Quirino,” Solomero said.
He disclosed that the bridge’s material is imported from the country of France and its steel could be as durable as the Eiffel tower.
Diffun Mayor May Calaunan expressed his gratitude to the DAR for the opportunity given to his town to receive such a valuable project.
“I would like to thank Director Solomero, Secretary Bernie Cruz, and President Rodrigo Duterte, as well as, the men and women behind this project because it will make life easier for our people,” she said. (DAR) -rir
