Davao City dads approve P1.2-B additional budget

DAVAO CITY–The Davao City Council has approved the proposed PHP1.2 billion supplemental budget of the city government this year.

Vice Mayor Bernard Al-ag disclosed this in an interview on Monday afternoon at the Davao City Recreation Center, adding the approval was made on Monday’s special session of the City Council.

Al-ag said the funds will come from the accumulated surplus funds, various reversions of appropriations and unappropriated balance in the past three years.

“The source of funds came from different offices of the city,” he said.

He said that the supplemental budget will fund the projects of several offices, such as the City Mayor’s Office and City Health Office.

Under the proposed resolution of Councilor Danilo Dayanghirang, chairman of the Committee on Finance, Ways and Means, 70 percent of the funds, or PHP848.889 million, will go to the general fund.

Part of the appropriation will be for the salary and other personnel benefits adjustment of the officials and employees due to the implementation of Third Tranche of the salary schedule dated January 3, 2018.

The development fund is set at PHP336.305 million for infrastructure (PHP185.534 million) and non-infrastructure projects (PHP150.77 million).
