Davao City, nakapagtala ng pinakamataas na COVID-19 positivity rate na 48.34%

Umabot na sa 48.34% ang positivity rate ng COVID-19 sa Davao City na siyang pinakamataas na naitala ng lungsod magmula nang magsimula ang pandemya noong 2020.

Ayon kay Davao City COVID-19 Task Force Spokesperson Dr. Michelle Schlosser, lagpas 1,000 na ang naitatalang bagong kaso ng COVID-19 kada araw sa loob ng tatlong araw dito sa lungsod simula noong Enero 19.

Batay sa pinakahuling report mula sa Department of Health (DOH) Davao Region, pumalo na sa 5,906 ang bilang ng mga aktibong kaso dito sa Davao City, kung saan 1,540 ang nadagdag na bagong kaso kahapon (Jan. 21).

Ayon kay Schlosser, hinihintay pa nila ang data management team at ang prediction ng epidemiologist upang malaman ang kahihinatnan ng kasalukuyang surge o kung kailan bababa ang kaso ng COVID-19 sa lungsod.

Giit ng opisyal na kahit na karamihan sa mga kaso ay asymptomatic at mild cases, magpapatuloy ang pagkalat ng COVID kung patuloy na lalabag ang mga Dabawenyo sa mga health protocols tulad ng ‘di pagsusuot at hindi tamang pagsusuot ng facemask, at ang hindi pagsunod sa social distancing.

Nanawagan ito sa publiko na sundin ang minimum public health standards, at magpa-booster na ang mga nakakumpleto na ng kanilang second dose na higit na sa tatlong buwan bilang dagdag na proteksiyon mula sa malalang sintomas ng COVID-19. (RPU)
