Day of Nat’l Remembrance ng SAF-44, pinangunahan ni PNP Chief

Pinangunahan ni Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief General Dionardo Carlos ang paggunita sa ikapitong anibersaryo ng tinaguriang “Mamasapano Massacre” kung saan 44 na Special Action Force (SAF) troopers ang nag-alay ng kanilang buhay.

Kasama ni General Carlos si Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra na panauhing pandangal sa okasyon sa pag-alay ng bulaklak sa bantayog ng SAF-44 sa Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig kaninang umaga.

Dahil sa umiiral na COVID-19 pandemic, naging virtual ang pakikiisa ng mga kaanak ng mga nasawing SAF troopers at limitado lamang ang dumalo sa naturang okasyon habang sinusunod ang health protocols.

Sa kaniyang mensahe, sinabi ni Guevarra na nakapaghain sila ng 35 reklamong direct assault with murder laban sa 88 akusado na nasa likod ng pagkamatay ng SAF-44, kasabay ng pagtiyak ng hustisya para sa mga pamilya ng mga nasawing pulis.

Matatandaang sa araw na ito (Enero 25) noong 2015, 44 na PNP-SAF troopers ang nasawi sa ikinasang Oplan Exodus sa Mamasapano, Maguindanao kung saan napatay ang Malaysian bomb maker na si Zulkifli Bin Hir alyas Marwan. (Radyo Pilipinas) -rir
