DBM releases budget for second tranche of SAP

The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) has released Php 96 billion to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) for the distribution of aid to marginalized Filipinos affected by the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

According to DBM Secretary Wendel Avisado, the said fund is intended for the second tranche of the Social Amelioration Program. The DBM has initially released PhP 200 million for the distribution of aid to families who have lost their livelihood due to the enhanced community quarantine in Luzon.

An initial PhP 100 million have already been given to Local Government Units (LGUs), according to Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) Spokesperson Karlo Nograles. – PTV News
