De Lemos appointed as next NBI OIC

Justice secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla appointed on Tuesday, July 5, Atty. Medardo De Lemos as the officer-in-charge (OIC) of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).

“The OIC shall perform and discharge the duties and responsibilities of the office until 31 July 2022 or until a replacement has been appointed or designated whichever comes first,” The memorandum order issued by the Department of Justice on July 1 read.

De Lemos will replace the post of NBI Senior Deputy Director Eric Distor.

According to the directives of the DOJ, De Lemos will take charge of the responsibilities of the OIC until July 31 or until there will be another appointed official to take his post. —Report from Kenneth Kyle Paciente/KC – gb
