Dead whale washes ashore along Cagayan

A dead whale was found washed up on a beach in Santa Ana, Cagayan, during the onslaught of Typhoon “Betty” in the town.

The whale was already in the decomposition stage.

As of 3:00 p.m. Monday, May 29, the center of the eye of Typhoon “Betty” was estimated at 425 kilometers (km) east of Calayan, Cagayan with a maximum sustained winds of 155 km per hour (km/h) near the center and gustiness of up to 190 km/h.

Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 2 is still hoisted over the northeastern portion of Cagayan, including the Babuyan Islands.
