Dec. 7 is special non-working holiday in Naic

By Gladys Pino – PNA

NAIC, Cavite — Municipal Mayor Junio C. Dualan has declared Friday (Dec. 7) a special non-working holiday in this town in observance of the traditional celebration of the Feast of its patron saint, Immaculate Conception which corresponds to the town’s fiesta celebration every 8th of December.

Proclamation No. 6, signed by Dualan, has ordered cancellation of classes in all levels, covering all schools, whether public and private, as well as work in all local government offices including the smallest unit — barangay (village).

Dualan’s declaration is due to many activities and joint undertakings that will be conducted by different organizations, associations, schools, barangays and other stakeholders in celebrating the town fiesta and feast of the Immaculate Conception.

‘There is a need to give stakeholders the opportunity to prepare for the forthcoming celebration,’ said Dualan.

The said declaration excludes national government offices operating in Naic and private/commercial establishments including banks’ operations, whose cancelation of work ‘is subject to the discretion of their respective heads and management.’

Naic, a first-class municipality with vast areas devoted to agriculture, is one of Cavite’s upland towns.
