DepEd to ask Congress for private teachers’ aid

The Department of Education (DepEd) will ask Congress for assistance in giving aid to private teachers affected by the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.

The Federation of Associations of Private School Administrator (FAPSA) has admitted that they only rely on students’ tuition fees for their salaries.

DepEd Secretary Leonor Briones has initially asked to include private schools in the list of beneficiaries under the Bayanihan to Heal as One Act. – PTV News
