Department of Education (DepEd) Secretary Leonor Briones has stated at the Senate Committee hearing Thursday that they are doing their best to provide gadgets and internet connection to all students and teachers nationwide.

“Ang plano natin siguraduhin natin lahat ng teacher magkaroon ng laptops.(Our plan is to ensure that all teachers will be provided a laptop.) ‘Yung programa natin na Brigada Eskwela kung saan ang mga donors magbibigay sila ng mga school bags, papel, ballpen, sabi namin kung kaya nila gadgets ang ipamigay (Our program, Brigada Eskwela, where donors give school bags, papers, ballpens, we asked them if they can give gadgets instead.)” DepEd Sec. Briones has shared.

A total of more than 190,000 laptops will be allotted for teachers which are more than enough for public school teachers.

Based on a study, more than 93,000 public school teachers or only 11 percent do not have a computer at home.
