By Pearl Gumapos

The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Wednesday (March 9) said that approximately 199 Filipinos from Ukraine are now out of harm’s way.

“Masaya tayo na 199 Filipinos are out of harm’s way. 63 na po ang nakabalik sa Pilipinas and 136 are awaiting repatriation. Sa land base, a little over a 100 na ayaw pa talagang umuwi but we are asking them na umuwi na sila,” DFA Undersecretary Sarah Lou Arriola said during the Laging Handa public briefing.

“POEA is closely monitoring how many Filipinos are stranded sa kanilang mga vessels. Pero yesterday ay dumating ang 21 seafarers. We’re expecting more to arrive today and the following day,” Arriola said.
