DFA: Repatriation of stranded OFWs in UAE scheduled this July

The repatriation program for overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will take place in July, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) announced on July 4.

The DFA will prioritize the repatriation of pregnant women and those with expiring visas from the UAE, according to a GMA news report.

DFA said that the government will also prioritize families with children and those with medical conditions who do not have health insurance in the UAE.

The chartered repatriation schedule for stranded OFWs from UAE is on July 12, 17, 27, and 30.

As of July 5, there were a total of 20,909 confirmed cases among Filipinos abroad, with 12,377 recoveries and 1,243 fatalities.
