Synonymous with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s vision of ensuring that Filipinos live in decent homes nestled within flourishing communities across the country, the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) formally opened this year’s celebration of the National Shelter Month celebration on Wednesday.

In a statement read by DHSUD Senior Undersecretary Sharon Faith Paquiz, Housing Secretary Jose Ramon Aliling noted two significant achievements in the continuing nationwide rollout of the Expanded Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program.

With the theme “Build Homes, Build Happiness,” DHSUD, along with attached agencies and various stakeholder groups, jumpstarted the month-long celebration of the National Shelter Month with a simple program and opening of exhibit booths at the Central Office.

During the program, several DHSUD Regional Offices were recognized for achieving “zero backlog” on actionable items regarding regulatory. Meanwhile, some known names in the housing industry also delivered their messages of support for DHSUD and its leadership.

DHSUD’s month-long celebration underscores the whole-of-government approach that has opened up opportunities for Filipinos to have access to shelters that serve as safe havens for their families.
