Not long after the completion of the first Bayanihan Village in San Remigio, Cebu, the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) ordered the accelerated completion of the second Bayanihan Village that is set to rise in Daanbantayan town.
In a media release on Saturday, DHSUD Secretary Jose Ramon Aliling cited such in accordance with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s order to deploy additional shelters for quake victims to facilitate prompt disaster response and further interventions to aid in rebuilding their lives.
The site has already been prepared in close collaboration with the DPWH and the Daanbantayan LGU, with the installation of modular shelter units (MSUs) already underway as of press time.
Daanbantayan town was among the hardest hit towns when the magnitude 6.9 earthquake struck Cebu last Sept. 30. (with report from Denisse Osorio | PTV News)
