DICT to provide free internet connection to far-flung areas in Mindanao

Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Secretary Gregorio Honasan announced that all far-flung areas in Mindanao will have access to free internet connection starting March.

This is meant to ensure that no Filipino will be left behind under the “new normal”.

The Mindanao Development Authority, Western Mindanao Command, Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), and the Ministry of Transportation and Communication of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) will also assist in the project.

The DICT is also set to distribute free computers for the local government units (LGUs), schools, and hospitals in the region. -PTV News
