DILG: 75.28% of NCR ‘ayuda’ distributed

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) announced Friday that 75.28% or P8.41 billion of “ayuda” or financial assistance has been distributed to qualified beneficiaries in the National Capital Region (NCR).

In total, around P16.29 billion has been handed to qualified low-income beneficiaries in the NCR Plus bubble which includes the provinces of Bulacan, Rizal, Laguna, and Cavite.

DILG Secretary Eduardo Año reported that 8,410,659 beneficiaries have received their aid in NCR from April 6 to 29, with Caloocan City leading at a 96.31% distribution rate amounting to more than P1.29 billion.

Quezon City follows with 94.96% or P2.36 billion, Mandaluyong City with 92.51% or P337 million, and Navotas City with 90.68% or P181 million.

The City of Manila has an 88.39% distribution rate, the Municipality of Pateros has 87.69%, and the City of San Juan has 80.40%.

“Given that 75% of the ayuda has been distributed, I am confident that the NCR LGUs [local government units] will be able to complete the distribution by May 15. In fact, some are now close to finishing the distribution of the financial assistance,” Año said.

Meanwhile, LGUs from Bulacan, Rizal, Laguna, and Cavite tallied a distribution percentage of 67.11%.

Laguna leads with 81.29% or P2.2 billion worth of financial aid distributed, followed by Bulacan with 67.22% or P1.99 billion, Rizal with 64.61% or P1.69 billion, and Cavite with 57.82% or P1.99 billion. DILG/AG-jlo
