DILG Cavite gears up for SK federation elections

TRECE MARTIRES CITY, Cavite – Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) in Cavite is gearing up for the Panlalawigan Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Federation Orientation and Elections slated on June 12 and 13.

Cavite’s 23 elected City and Municipal SK Federation Presidents (that are all out to be elected on or before May 29, 2018) are expected to attend the orientation and elect the Cavite SK Federation president.

DILG-Cavite Director Allan V. Benitez has already convened the provincial Board of Election Supervisor (BES) members to align on their roles and election mechanics.

Other BES members, Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) Secretary Michelle F. Alcid and provincial Elections Supervisor Atty. Sheryl G. Moresca-Julie joined the DILG in the preparatory meeting held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the at DTI Conference Room on May 24.

Invited panel observers from the Philippine National Police and the Academe, alongside the members of the Training Management Team, were also, oriented on the tasks and roles to be performed during the Provincial SK Fed Elections.

To ensure a seamless execution during D-day, attendees, including Nilo Reyes of the Provincial Treasurer Office [PTO] discussed and agreed upon election procedures, including possible scenarios, issues and measures to adapt to address, contain any possibilities.

“In the case of collection of Registration Fee (as cited in DILG MC 2018-64), the PTO will act as the collecting unit since the Fed Election will be managed by the Youth and Development Office (YDO) of the province, in the absence of the SK Interim President,” Benitez clarified.

Although the venue for the upcoming SK Fed Election of the province is yet to be determined considering that the project is still undergoing bidding process, the BES members are all set and ready for the 2-day June activity.

“As a general rule, these target attendees need to bring with them the Certificate of Proclamation, the Certificate that they have attended the SK Mandatory Training that was conducted in the province between May 16-26, 2018, and the Certificate of Election (as an elected C/M Fed President,” Benitez said.
