The “ayuda” or aid distribution in the National Capital Region (NCR) Plus Area is now 99.67% complete, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) reported.
DILG Secretary Eduardo Año said in President Rodrigo Duterte’s public briefing on May 26 that 22,838,875 beneficiaries have already been given cash aid amounting to P22.838 billion.
The DILG said 93 local government units (LGUs) have completed their distribution of the P22.9 billion social amelioration program.
In terms of regions, NCR has a 99.95% percent distribution rate with 11,167,408 recipients out of the 11,172,988 eligible beneficiaries. NCR has distributed P11.167 billion as of May 26.
NCR is followed by Bulacan with 99.93%, Laguna with 99.74%, Rizal with 99.68%, and Cavite with 98.45%.
The one-time P4,000 grant to each family was implemented in March to provide additional assistance to residents of NCR Plus amid the reimplementation of enhanced community quarantine (ECQ).
Meanwhile, the DILG is set to issue a memorandum circular to expedite the rollout of COVID-19 vaccines, which will include the simplification of registration forms.
– jlo#
