DILG orders LGUs to post list of SAP beneficiaries in barangay halls

The Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) has ordered the Local Government Units (LGUs) to post the list of the Social Amelioration Program beneficiaries in barangay halls.

According to DILG Secretary Eduardo Año, this is for the purpose of transparency on the funds of the program.

He added that there is no reason to conceal any information if proper distribution of the Social Amelioration Card forms was made.

The list of beneficiaries can also be posted in town halls, social centers, gymnasiums, terminals, and public markets so the public can easily view the list.

The DILG has also expressed gratitude towards the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) for approving the inclusion of families of barangay health workers and officers among qualified beneficiaries of SAP.

Meanwhile, according to DSWD Secretary Rolando Bautista, 89 percent of the SAP funds have been given to LGUs.

The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) also disclosed that PhP 199.975 billion have been given to the DSWD for the SAP under the Bayanihan to Heal as One Act. – Report from Patrick de Jesus
