The Department of National Defense clarified that the purchased Gulfstream G280 plane is not a luxury jet. This is part of the modernization program of the Armed Forces of the Philippines including its command and control platforms. While Pres. Rodrigo Duterte may use it as Commander-in-Chief, it is not a presidential plane. The G280 will be used in mercy flights for wounded soldiers and civilians who would need immediate medical attention.
