DND, itinutulak ang pagkuha ng multi-role aircraft

Itinutulak ngayon ng Department of National Defense (DND) ang pagkuha ng Pilipinas ng mga multi-role jet fighters.

Ito ay sinabi ni DND Secretary Delfin Lorenzana sa kanyang talumpati sa idinaos na Sanay-Datu Air Defense Exercise sa Basa Air Base, Pampanga noong Huwebes (Mayo 6).

“We are pushing for the acquisition of multi-role fighter aircraft as it is (a) critical capability for the defense of our country’s territorial airspace from any form of threat and enforcement of the Philippine Air Defense Identification Zone or ADIZ.”

Naniniwala ang Kalihim na mahalaga ang mga nasabing air assets para sa proteksyon ng territorial airspace ng bansa. Kahit aniya si Pangulong Rodrigo Roa Duterte ay interesadong kumuha ng mga multi-role aircrafts para sa Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).

Samantala, nagkaroon din si Sec. Lorenzana ng pagkakataon sa nasabing okasyon na sumakay sa isang FA-50 jet fighter, ang pinakabagong air asset ng Philippine Air Force (PAF).
