Tropical Storm “Dodong” is now outside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR), the state weather bureau reported Saturday afternoon, July 15.

However, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the tropical storm will continue to enhance the southwest monsoon (habagat) while outside PAR.

“‘Dodong will continue to enhance the Southwest Monsoon. This weather system will continue to bring occasional to frequent rains over the western portions of Luzon,” PAGASA noted in its 5:00 p.m. weather bulletin.

Monsoon rains brought by “habagat” will continue in Ilocos Region, Mimaropa, Zambales, and Bataan.

“Habagat” will also bring occasional rains over Metro Manila, Cavite, Batangas, Tarlac, Pampanga, Bulacan, and Western Visayas.

The rest of Luzon will experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to “habagat”.

Meanwhile, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the “habagat”/localized thunderstorms will prevail over the rest of the country. CF
