The Department of Health (DOH) on Thursday (Dec. 16) said it is confident that the 7 million target will be reached by the end of the second round of the National Vaccination Days (NVD II).

“Yes, we are confident na makakamit natin ang ating 7 million. We will reach 7 million by the end of Dec. 22,” National Vaccination Operations Center (NVOC) Chairperson Myrna Cabotaje said during the Laging Handa public briefing.

The second round of Bayanihan Bakunahan has started today among some regions, while other regions have postponed the three-day inoculation to Dec. 20 to 22.

Cabotaje said that no reports of overcrowding or non-vaccination have come in yet. The only problem was Typhoon Odette which led to regions postponing their Bayanihan Bakunahan days.

During the first day of the second round of the Bayanihan Bakunahan, 953,624 doses were administered.

The top performing regions were: (1) Region IV-A, (2) Region 3, and (3) Region 1, while the top performing provinces were: (1) Batangas, (2) Cavite, and (3) Laguna. -rir
