DOH confirms 2 more Filipinos positive with COVID-19

The Department of Health (DOH) has confirmed that 2 more Filipinos have tested positive with Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).

According to DOH Sec. Francisco Duque III, the fourth case is a 48-year-old man that has a travel history in Japan, and has gone back to the Philippines on February 25. He had a fever on March 3, but is now in stable condition.

Meanwhile, the fifth case is a 62-year-old man without any travel history, but only visits a Muslim prayer hall in San Juan City. Although it is too early to assume the case as a local transmission, Sec. Duque says.

Both are currently admitted in the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM).

The DOH is encouraging people who are near the said areas to get in touch with authorities while the health department is tracing back all individuals the patients have been in contact with.

A total of 5 Filipinos have now tested positive with COVID-19 in the Philippines.
