DOH: COVID patients who recovered now at 3

The Department of Health (DOH) has confirmed the recovery of another COVID-19 case, bringing their total number to three.

The recovery patient is Patient14, a 46-year-old Filipino male from Pasay City with no travel history and no known exposure to a confirmed case.

The DOH said he manifested symptoms of cough and fever on February 25, admitted on March 5 at the Makati Medical Center, and was confirmed with COVID-19 on March 9.

He was also reported to have been asymptomatic and had tested negative twice prior to discharge.

The health department has welcomed the development but said it should not be a reason to be complacent.

Meanwhile, the DOH reported two additional cases of COVID-19, raising the total number of confirmed cases to 142.

Based on current data, the youngest COVID-19 case, or Patient35 is 13 years-old, was reported in Quezon City. He had no travel history and exhibited symptoms on March 4 and sought consultation with the Quezon City Health Department.

DOH data shows there are 22 cases in NCR, 15 each in Makati and San Juan, nine in Pasig, eight in Manila, six in Marikina, five in Paraῆaque, four in Mandaluyong, two each in Las Piῆas and Taguig, while one each in Caloocan, Muntinlupa, and Pasay.

In Central Luzon, four cases were recorded in Bulacan, two in Pampanga, and one each in Tarlac and Bataan.

In Calabarzon, there are seven patients in Rizal, four in Cavite, two in Batangas, and one each in Laguna and Lucena.

There have also been reported cases in Camarines Sur, Negros Oriental, Lanao del Sur, and Davao de Oro while cases in some areas are yet to be verified.

Meanwhile, COVID-19-related deaths have already reached 12.
