DOH endorses to PNP, NBI complaint vs. Pimentel

The Department of Health (DOH) has endorsed a complaint against Senator Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III over alleged breach of quarantine protocols.

Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire disclosed the DOH has already submitted its endorsement to the Philippine National Police (PNP) and National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to conduct a probe.

“Ito naman talaga iyong proseso na ginagawa namin, pagka ganitong complaints ang nare-receive. Ang DOH naman, administrative ito sa amin. But with regards to this, mayroon na ibang process na kailangan so we have submitted it to the proper authority (This is the process we follow when receiving complaints of this kind. For DOH, it is administrative to us. But with regards to this, there are other required processes, so we have submitted it to the proper authority),” Vergeire expounded.

The complaint refers to the incident last March when the legislator accompanied his wife to the Makati Medical Center. He is one of the senators who tested positive for the disease and was advised to go on home quarantine. – Report from Eunice Samonte
