DOH: Quarantined health workers must still be given benefits

The Department of Health (DOH) said Wednesday (April 28) that quarantined healthcare workers must still be given their whole hazard pay, following reports of several health employees receiving deducted benefits.

According to DOH Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire, hospitals must give the required benefits to the healthcare workers who are quarantined after being exposed to COVID-19. This in line with a joint memorandum of the DOH and the Department of Budget and Management (DBM).

“They still have to receive their hazard pay even when they undergo quarantine, kasi ito pong quarantine ay kino-consider natin as a paid time for work,” she reiterated.
