DOH warns vs fake report on new COVID-19 variant in Metro Manila


The Department of Health (DOH) warned against the fake report spreading over the social media regarding the detection of the new SARS-CoV-2 variant in Metro Manila.

According to the health department, the Philippine Genome Center has not yet detected the said virus from the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) positive samples it is evaluating.

The DOH appealed to the public to avoid spreading unverified information that can cause panic and confusion.

The continuous compliance with the minimum health standard was also encouraged to prevent further spread of COVID-19 and the possibility of a virus mutation. – PTV News
