DOJ unveils redesigned website; cites bolstered gov’t presence

By Benjamin Pulta/PNA

MANILA — Justice Secretary Menardo I. Guevarra on Monday cited the importance of the government’s online presence as the department unveiled the new redesigned website of the agency.

“We are in the age of digital information, a time when the public we serve make decisions from information they collect and source online. How we make our online presence felt is therefore important,” he said.

“Online is where our public first meets, and form their impression of, the DOJ,” Guevarra added.

Guevarra said online is the platform where many, especially the young, form their opinion about the agency.

“Our Department bears the burden not only of negative public opinion formed through the years but also of disinformation.

Guevarra ordered court employees to “use this platform to fight both and to show the public who we truly are, what we have accomplished, and the reality that we are capable of so much more.”
