DOLE continues to monitor occupational safety, health protocols in workplaces

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) continues to monitor the implementation of occupational safety and health standards in companies to prevent the further spread of Covid-19.

In today’s (April 23) Laging Handa public briefing, DOLE-Occupational Safety and Health Center Executive Director Engineer Noel Binag said they continue to visit sites and offices to ensure that the health protocols are being observed.

“Ang ating DOLE inspectors ay nag-inspect po sila, upang matiyak ang compliance ng ating mga kumpanya ayon sa DOLE-DTI guidelines on workplace prevention and control of Covid-19.”

[Our DOLE inspectors [continue to] inspect [the workplace] to ensure companies’ compliance with the DOLE-DTI guidelines on workplace prevention and control of Covid-19].

Binag also said the department is conducting workshops and training on occupational health and safety standards, with small businesses the priority.

Meanwhile, Binag also said that employees infected by Covid-19 can receive compensation based on the guidelines of the Employees Compensation Commission (ECC).
