The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) recently issued a safety seal certification program for workplaces to ensure the safety of employees.
In a Laging Handa public briefing on Thursday (June 10), DOLE Assistant Secretary Teresita Cucueco said the certification is given to companies that pass their inspection. She added that the safety seal certification also boosts consumer confidence and assures the public that it is safe for entry.
Cucueco said that 36 companies have shown interest in the certification and are for inspection.
According to DOLE, the certification is only valid for six months and can be revoked if it is proven that the establishment violated the minimum public health standards.
So in six months they can renew and i-inspect ulit at kung compliant ulit, [at] bibigyan po ulit ng validity for the next six months. So ganoon po ang validity ng safety seal – renewable,” Cucueco said.
Among the requirements for the safety seal certification are a mayor’s permit, Securities and Exchange Commission-Department of Trade and Industry (SEC-DTI) registration, and DOLE registration.
